How calibration works

ProBid uses NECA standard labor units as a baseline. Every contractor's crew speed and market conditions are slightly different. Run one of these test jobs through ProBid, compare the output to what you would actually bid, and use the calculator below to find your personal labor adjustment factor. Set that factor in the estimate form and every future estimate adjusts to your real-world numbers.

Step 1 β€” Run a test estimate

Click a test job below to load it into the estimator. Generate the estimate, then come back here and enter your actual bid for the same job.

200A service upgrade β€” standard residential
Single family home, garage panel, utility coordination. Phoenix AZ. Standard conditions.
Kitchen remodel β€” 8 new circuits
8 new 20A kitchen circuits, GFCI outlets, under-cabinet lighting circuit. Finished walls, hard conditions.
Panel replacement + 4 circuit additions
Replace 100A panel with 200A, add 4 new circuits (2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 laundry). Standard conditions.

Step 2 β€” Enter both numbers and calculate

Enter the ProBid estimate total and what you would actually bid for the same job. The calculator gives you your adjustment factor.

Step 3 β€” Set your factor in the estimate form

Once you have your factor, enter it in the "Labor adjustment factor" field on the New Estimate screen. Every future estimate automatically adjusts to match your real-world bid amounts. Run 3–5 real jobs through this process for the most accurate calibration.
